From Camp to the Pros: Moore 44 Umpires Take the Next Step

Friday, April 3, 2026

Moore 44 is proud to celebrate the continued growth and success of two standout participants from the 2025 Moore 44 Umpire Camp in Compton, California. Through scholarship support, Rudy Bosque and Julian Mendoza advanced to the prestigious Harry Wendelstedt Umpire School, taking another meaningful step toward their goal of becoming professional umpires.

Julian has since earned an umpiring opportunity in the Northwoods League, where he will work during the 2026 season, following in the footsteps of Malachi Moore—the first umpire from that league to become a full-time Major League Baseball umpire—while Rudy will umpire in the Frontier League, an official MLB Partner League, during the 2026 season as well. Both leagues feature high-level competition, providing invaluable experience and repetitions essential for continued development on the path to Major League Baseball.

At Moore 44, we believe that small acts of opportunity can spark lasting change. By investing in young people through baseball—particularly in officiating—we create pathways for personal growth, leadership, and career advancement that extend far beyond the game. Rudy and Julian’s journeys are a powerful reflection of what is possible when access, preparation, and belief come together.
